Eltra absolute linear potentiometer

Linear potentiometers are devices that able to transduce a current object displacement along single axis, by determining changes in own resistance. The Italian company Eltra s.p.a. has released 4 series of such linear potentiometers.

EPLA linear potentiometer

EPLA potentiometer created by Eltra is an absolute type sensor. That is, it determines the current position immediately after switching on.

The main advantage of the series is the ability to work in harsh conditions. Presented device can work optimally even with a high level of vibrations and shocks.

Its design instead of the usual mounting system has a groove on the transducer housing. The absence of output signal deviation outside the theoretical course greatly simplifies installation process.

Potmeter main body is made of anodized aluminum or Nylon 66 G and has a degree of protection IP60 / IP65 (IEC 60529). Pull shaft is made of stainless steel 1.4305 / AISI 303.

Eltra produced 12 types of models with different maximum step lengths (50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600, 750 and 900 mm). Such shaft can move with a maximum speed of 10 m/s.

Presented pots have 4 available types of output :

  2. 3 pin connector
  3. DIN 43650-A4 pin connector
  4. DIN 43322 5 pin connector

User can select any of them when making order. Such linear transducer is connected axially.

EPLA potentiometer works well in materials processing industries, for example, in presses.

EPLB linear potentiometer

EPLB potentiometer from Eltra is a linear transducer that determines an object absolute position. Main design features are cylindrical housing and two spherical joints on both sides. Therefore, sensors in this category belong to a series of cylindrical linear potentiometers.

The EPLB main case is made of anodized aluminum and has an IP 65 protection level. Pots rod is made of stainless steel.

Length of its stroke is in the range from 50 to 750mm. Maximum speed of such piston is 5 m/s.

EPLB connects with several types of outputs:

  • cable (standard length is 1m)
  • 3 pin connector
  • 4 pin connector
  • 5 pin connector

Presented potentiometer is set radially. Device mounted with two self-loading and self-aligning ball-joints.

The potmeter is quite durable and withstands about 25 million cycles. It can also operate at temperatures up to 100 ° C.

Due to its great robust, Eltra EPLB potentiometer works great in a wide range of automation systems.

EPLC linear potentiometer

The main feature of the linear EPLC potentiometer is the absence of an internal rod. Presented transducer has cursor with a built-in slip clutch. All movement occurs along one axis.

EPLC is classified as a rodless linear potentiometer. The device is mounted axially. It's mounted using brackets by variable center-to-center distance with M6 screw.

Two types of output are available for connection:

  1. DIN 4350-A 4-pin connector
  2. M16 DIN 43322 5-pin connector

Potentiometer housing has an IP40 protection level. It is made of anodized aluminum or Nylon 66 G 25. Two models types are available with a maximum speed of 4 or 10 m / s. Its resolution is virtually infinite.

Presented potentiometer can ensure good linearity and accuracy of results. EPLC is a great solution when a rodless pot is required.

EPLT linear potentiometer

EPLT is an absolute linear transducer that belongs to the category of linear potentiometer with ball tip.

Design of device has a moving rod and sphere, which is fixed on the threaded tip. Such model is manufactured completely without a cursor.

EPLT is used in areas where a short stroke potentiometer needs.

Italian manufacturer produces models with the following maximum rode stroke available:

  • 10mm
  • 25mm
  • 50mm
  • 75mm
  • 100mm

Linearity of the results is determined depending on selected model type. The housing is made of aluminum and the rod is made of stainless steel.

Equipment mounts using brackets with a variable center-to-center distance. It is coupling on axial way.

Device can operate normally in the temperature range from -30 to + 100 ° C. The potmeter has an IP40 protection level.

The producer does not recommend using devices as a variable resistance. Calibration of sensors must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the official company manual.

EPLT potentiometer is very popular for work in cams or for production lines.
