Kits for measuring linear displacements that are also known as linear encoders consist of a universal stand with an encoder mounting system, the encoder itself, a gear or measuring wheel, plastic or aluminum.
It can be of closed or opened type depending on construction specifics. A closed-type line encoder has a profile body, along which there are interlocking lip seals and sealed end caps. The readhead housing is attached to the sealed optical module using a paddle that moves along the encoder through lip seals. When moving the linear axis, the reading head and optics pass the absolute scale of the encoder (which is attached to the inside of the housing) without mechanical contact.
The area of application for linear encoder is quite wide. It can be successfully applied in timber processing and primary woodworking; textile industry; food industry; manufacturing industry; automation of technological processes; mechanical assembly production; transport, storage and packaging technologies.
