As encoders are widely required in the industry due to their main working principle, motor encoders are among the most popular options provided by manufacturers.
An encoder itself serves as an angular positioner when precise data about the position of moving or rotating parts of industrial systems is required. It can measure the following parameters: rotational speed, angular position in relation to zero mark, rotation direction etc.
When we talk about motors, encoders are basically used for measuring various parameters of rotation of any part, usually the shaft of an electric motor or gearbox. As usual, for motors are incremental encoders used. There is a diverse choice of such encoders depending on their work conditions, temperature range, type of mounting and other parameters.
Encoders mounted on the motor shaft effectively provide precise positioning control. Such encoders are usually made in the hole shaft version and special couplings are important elements of their design, which allow to compensate for the backlash of the motor shaft.
